plans to continue experimenting with different sounds this year.

Get High and Rise my Emotion, two of the songs he released last year, heard him doing house and pop, a departure from the roots-reggae sound he is known for.

“Creating and trying new sounds will always be part of me, I will be embracing the new sounds and continue to keep it positive while experimenting the different sounds,” he told our man in jamaica

Ras Kronik, who has called Las Vegas home for over 15 years, worked with high-profile producers Steve “Mr Mig” Migliore and David Siviano on Get High and Rise my Emotion, respectively.

While not big sellers, the songs introduced him to markets outside of roots-reggae. That, he noted, has encouraged him to broaden his base.

“For the first quarter of 2019 my focus will be promoting and developing my brand. 2018 has been a wonderful year for me so I give thanks, and will be expanding on that to another level,” he said.

An American, Mr Mig has worked with Beyonce and Taylor Swift. Siviano is from Sweden and head of Boost Records, which has offices in Atlanta and Hong Kong.

Ras Kronik (born Everton Edwards) is from Clarendon. He started his career in the 1990s before migrating to the United States and working the east and west coast roots scene.

Most of his recordings and live shows in the last decade have been in Las Vegas which has a vibrant reggae community built around clubs and shows like Reggae In The Desert.

Since moving to the gambling mecca, Ras Kronik has released two albums. His debut, The Real Thing Remix, came out in 2013, while Wild N Free was released three years later.
